How I Charge

Local Rates
For customers in The Woodlands and Shenandoah, I charge $120 per hour plus a $50 service call fee — that covers my travel, insurance, and my fully stocked Ultimate Handyman Trailer. That puts the minimum at $170 for the first hour. After that, I bill in 15-minute increments, so you only pay for the time I’m actually working. If materials are needed, I stop at the store on the way, show you the receipt, and add the cost to your invoice. Before I show up, make a full list — you’d be surprised how much I can knock out in an hour.
Travel Rates
Honestly, I don’t really need to leave The Woodlands — I’ve got plenty of work right here in my own backyard. But some folks know a good value when they see it. So for customers outside The Woodlands, I charge $150 per hour from the time I leave my driveway until I get home. That covers gas (I get 10 mpg pulling a trailer), insurance, and the extra risk that comes with hauling a trailer further from home. I still bill my time in 15-minute increments, no material markup, same punctuality.

Do you charge a markup on materials or parts?
If materials are needed, I stop at the store on the way, show you the receipt, and add the exact cost to your invoice. What I paid is what you pay. Not a penny more.
Do you have a minimum charge for very small, single tasks?
Yes. My rate is $120 per hour, plus a one-time $50 service call fee — that puts the minimum at $170 for the first hour. Because of this, I always encourage my customers to make a list before I arrive. You’d be amazed how much I can knock out in an hour. See everything I do here.
How do I schedule service?
It’s best to text me directly at 281-827-2614. During regular business hours I’m usually working in someone’s home. And when I’m on their clock, I want to be respectful of their time. And after business hours, I’m at home with my family. So unless you happen to call me when I’m between jobs, I typically don’t pick up my phone.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. I hold TDLR Licenses #894 and #376398, and I carry $1M/$2M general liability insurance — so you’re covered no matter the job.
Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. I only take jobs that I’m qualified for and have a lot of experience with, so I rarely get callbacks — but if something I did caused a problem, I come back fast and make it right. In my 10 years of doing this, I’ve only had to make one insurance claim.
Can you provide references?
Absolutely, I’d be happy to put you in contact with any of my customers (subject to their approval first of course). But you can also just google “Adam Taylor the Handyman” and read my reviews. I have over 100 5-star reviews and every one of them came from a neighbor just like you.
